Minister Flaherty Announces Appointment of New CDIC President and Chief Executive Officer

April 28, 2010 — Ottawa, Ontario

The Government of Canada has announced the appointment Michèle L. Bourque as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of CDIC. This appointment will be effective as of May 9, 2010, for a term of five years.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Bourque was Executive Vice-President, Insurance and Risk Assessment. With nearly two decades of experience at CDIC, Ms. Bourque’s extensive knowledge in deposit insurance and risk assessment will continue to benefit CDIC and its mandate to protect Canadians’ savings.
